New Blogger

Apparently everyone is doing it. Everyone seems to have one but me -- a blogger. Now maybe all of you people who cry constantly that I never update glug.com (which is true, I don't) can be put at ease as you watch me skillfully spew out vast amounts of useful text. The best part about all of this is that you get to comment on my rantings, my raves, and my life stories. If this is anything like the last time I had a comments section, I look forward to not letting anyone I know or like see them. I've come to the conclusion that the only reason that people behave the way they do on the internet is the lack of the needed feature wherein you can strangle the person on the other end for being a complete _____ (idiot, prick, jerk, whatever).

Nevertheless, we're going to give it another shot. I've always been one to rant and rave and thanks to the power of the internet that will allow absolutely any lunatic (Read: me) to publish things for the masses to view, here I am.

New Design

After 13 hours of work, glug.com has a fresh new design. I decided it was time to get rid of the web design techniques I picked up in kindergarten and move onto some more advanced things like CSS, Mason (perl-embedded HTML) and a template management system. With a little luck, this might encourage me to actually update glug.com once in a while and keep new content on here! We'll see.. I still need to come up with a better way of managing the side-buttons.

Let me know if you like the new look. Don't say anything if you don't. :)

Style Sheets

I realize this entry is like.. 5 years old, but I've finally discovered the true magic of cascading style sheets. (I think it's a late Christmas Miracle!). Prior to tonight, I'd used them here and there throughout this web site, but I've finally cleaned them all up and now they actually "cascade". Between that and SSI's (I actually use Mason, which has similar features) I think I could overhaul this entire website in about an hour -- which for me is amazing since the last 3 times I've gone through and changed everything it's been a full-weekend project. Maybe I should let viewers choose a "glug.com theme" for the mood they happen to be in that day. :) Anyway, I'd like to thank the W3C for finally bridging the gap between "HTML" and "Document Publishing".

New Blog Site

In light of the fact that several people seem to think that glug.com should remain a light-hearted family show (versus slamming the President every other blog post) I've decided to stop posting my rants and political opinions on glug.com. Instead, I've created a new site at briansays.com where I'll post the heavy stuff and keep glug.com a place you'd be proud to show members of the family from all political parties.

About This Website

This page contains an archive of all entries posted to Brian's Brain in the This Website category. They are listed from oldest to newest.
